Equine Assisted Learning for Leadership

Equine-guided leadership training is a powerful leadership training method that applies the principles of non-violent horse training  to help leaders understand how to work with people by building trust. Based on operant conditioning, the principles used with training horses have already been successfully transferred to the corporate world.

Skills used in the business world are consistently used in the world of horses. Both horses and humans require empathy, communication, strategic planning, problem solving, collaboration, clearly defined goals, responsibility, learning, trust and leadership. Both horses and humans will follow strong leaders. Horses excel in team dynamics, yet they all unique, like humans. Each one has its own temperament. Using horses to assist in training leadership skills provides the opportunity for humans to test out leadership styles and skills and receive instant feedback. The horse is the catalyst that creates the ability for people to change.

Both people and horses naturally want someone to lead them. When you behave as the leader, demonstrate to the horse that you are more aware and better able to keep the horse safe, the horse will trust you and willingly perform for you.
